Fractional CO2 Laser Treatment

What is a fractional CO2 laser?
Carbon dioxide laser (CO2 ) has been used for more than 25 years for treatment of skin conditions. When a CO2 beam of light comes in contact with the skin, it instantly removes the superficial layers of the skin. Fractional CO2 laser is a revolutionary delivery system that can treat 20% (mild) to 100% (aggressive) of the scanned area. This skin remodeling stimulates new skin and collagen growth.

What are the benefits of fractional CO2 skin resurfacing?
Fine line, coarse wrinkles, scars, pigmentation and pores respond well to this treatment.

How do I know if CO2 resurfacing is right for me?
Good candidates for this procedure are 30 years or older with skin damage caused by the sun. It is ideal for patients with age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, rough texture, acne scarring and other skin imperfections.

Will I need more than one treatment?
A single treatment can show a significant improvement in skin texture, tone and color. Your skin will continue to improve over the next several months. Some patients are so happy with the results that they opt to have an additional treatment in three to six months. Others like to have yearly maintenance treatments.

What can I expect after my fractional treatment?
Immediately after the procedure, the treated area will feel warm. This sensation usually lasts up to three hours. You may use cool water or gel packs to help soothe the area. Allow the areas to naturally exfoliate and peel away. Avoid the temptation to pick at the treated areas. Following CO2 treatment, it is very important to apply sunscreen and to avoid sunlight. Facial make-up may be applied to the skin once the peeling has been completed.
