Shaving may last a day, waxing a couple of weeks, but these methods do not last forever. Laser hair removal can remove unwanted hair faster and more effectively than traditional methods.
How does it work?
The laser emits gentle pulses of energy that pass through the skin to the hair follicle. This energy is then absorbed into the hair follicle and the follicle is destroyed.
What are the most common areas treated?
The most common areas treated include above the lip, chin, ear, shoulders, back, underarm, abdomen, buttocks, pubic area, bikini lines, thighs, face, neck, cleavage, chest, arms, legs, hands and toes.
Am I a candidate for laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal can be applied to all areas of the body. Laser works best with dark coarse hair and light skin. Fortunately, our GentleLASE® and GentleYag® lasers are able to safely target dark hair even in patients with dark skin.
Does it hurt?
The laser treatment causes only minimal discomfort. Patients often say it feels similar to the snap of a rubber band. Slight redness or localized swelling can occasionally occur, but this usually subsides within the first 24 hours after treatment.
How many laser hair treatments are required?
Since hair grows in cycles, you can expect more than one treatment. Typically patients will see best results in three to five treatments, though this number varies depending upon skin tone, hair color and several other factors.
